I wish it had only been four tries here, but we have gone through many more than that if you include the dolls before my lovely holey one. I do regret returning that girl, I wish I had just sent her to the hospital instead. Did you have the same problems as me with the hair and the eyes? How did you describe to them what you wanted and what you didn't want?

Thanks

I don't know what it is with Jess' wig, when I was at AGPLA, I went though more than half of them to find mine (she's in my avatar). But I'm not that close and won't be able to go back anytime soon, gas is too expensive for me to justify going just to look...

If the next one still has issues, please post again, I'm sure one of us who's in the area could do it!

BTW, for those of you who had picked a Jess among many, did the people who work there gave you funny looks and hovered?

I was under the assumption it was SUPPOSED to be showing like that. A skin top to make the part look more realistic with little bits of skin showing. That's why it has the "skin" section under the entire part.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Maybe, is that how it looks on yours? On mine, the wig cap doesn't quite match her skin and isn't consistent with other American Girl parts I've seen. It's more like a piece of beige netting sticking out of the top of her head. Plus, it's only at the very front of her hair. No where else. At any rate, I don't think it looks good so I'm still going to color it .

P.S. Sarah - I'm so jealous your hair does that! I can never get my part to zig zag because my hair's curly and does what it wants.

My mom gave me a quick sneak peak at the Jess I'm getting for Christmas and then yesterday I was bad and took another closer peak and my Jess seems to have a smaller left eye that looks off. But I'm actually ok with her like that since my left eye is "lazy"- mine goes in and I think my Jess's looks up or down (can't remember). I actually don't mind small things like that because nobody is perfect in real life, so I don't think all dolls need to be either. And my Kaya has a smaller left eye, although it didn't seem as noticeable to me as Jess's. but anyway that is just my honest opinion. I hope you get another beautiful Jess.

When I was at AGPLA a couple of weeks ago I had asked if they could ship my items home for me (to Washington State). They said they could and then told me that they didn't think I'd get a couple of my items as they are listed as sold out so I may want to just take those two with me. I of course did not understand at first but the sales person told me that they would just put all my stuff back on the shelves and then the AG warehouse would just pack up the same things for me and mail them off. I had spent quite a while picking out the 'right' doll and did not want them to just send me any doll. Needless to say, my DD and I ended up carying a bunch of stuff with us on the plane as we did not have anything shipped home! I just thought I'd mention this. If I was working with a personal shopper, it may have worked differently. However, at the regular cash register they were not going to actually mail the items I picked out personally. - Meg B.

Meg-

Oh dear! I do hope it is different with a personal shopper...I'm thinking that it is, because I think I've heard of other people having a PS and then having their things shipped. I can't remember who it was, but she had two dolls and quite a few other goodies. That's rotten that they were going to put everything back and just have the warehouse ship it. I also took a whole lot of time picking out my perfect Kit and I would have been so sad to see a different Kit arrive at my door. I'm crossing my fingers.
